Our Commissioning Manager ensures that systems, facilities, or equipment are installed, tested, and functioning as intended before being handed over to the client.
DUTIES & SCOPE:
General
Understanding of basic electrical fundamentals
Good communication skills – verbal and written
Understanding of mechanical systems, including controls and electrical requirements
Basic computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ACC
Proficiency in communication platforms like Teams and Outlook
Ability to learn new programs for Cx (e.g., Procore, Cx Alloy); familiarity with Cx Alloy is a plus
Read and understand drawings—specifically electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls
Read and summarize specifications related to Cx/NETA
Review submittal components for Testing/NETA/Cx
Edit and update multiple commissioning online platforms
Review Cx scripts to understand the testing procedures and objectives
Review schedules and provide input on timeframes and dependencies
Observe and review test reports, analyze data for pass/fail outcomes
Be detail-oriented
Schedule NETA vendors effectively for testing
Conduct meetings to coordinate with the HEI team and vendors
Communicate issues with forms and high-priority items effectively
QUALIFICATIONS:
Journeyman Trade Certification in a related construction trade (asset)
Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to perform multiple tasks under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Leadership skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Knowledge of Building Codes
Preferred certifications: OSHA 30, CPR, First Aid
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work in various elements depending on location and weather conditions
Use of construction site sanitary facilities
Ability to lift objects over 50 pounds and work at heights using ladders
Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator if required)
Perform physical activities such as climbing, crawling, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, sitting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
