Job Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for low voltage systems, including security, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, data cabling, and AV systems
Analyze project drawings, specifications, and scope documents to determine material, labor, and time requirements
Collaborate with design, engineering, and project management teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids
Evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure compliance with scope
Lead estimating efforts on large-scale or technically complex projects across various markets
Conduct site visits for pre-construction evaluations and project scoping
Present estimates and value engineering options to internal stakeholders and clients
Mentor junior estimators and support the development of estimating best practices
Stay current with industry pricing trends, new technologies, and code requirements
Maintain organized documentation for estimates, vendor communications, and project files
Requirements
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in estimating low voltage electrical systems in industrial and commercial client base
High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree in Electrical Technology, Construction Management, or related field
Strong knowledge of commercial low voltage systems and installation methods
Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, etc.)
Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, Bluebeam, or similar
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Ability to lead projects and interface with clients, vendors, and internal teams
Willingness to travel throughout North America as required
