Job Express Employment Professionals is now hiring Journeyman Diesel Mechanics!
Hours: Full-time dayshift
Compensation: $25/hr
Responsibilities
Preventive maintenance inspections, repairs, overhauls of heavy equipment and heavy trucks.
In-frame overhaul of engines; inspect and repair air intake systems, coolant systems, mechanical/electrical systems, fuel systems, air systems, steering, suspension, wheels, and tires.
Rebuild and repair hydraulic/air brakes, air conditioning systems (R12 & 134A), service and repair of automatic/manual transmissions, universal joints, and differentials.
Troubleshooting of equipment using diagnostic equipment to locate defects and perform repairs.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air systems, main control valve assembly pumps, and cylinders; make and replace hydraulic lines or hoses, repair or replace bucket assemblies, boom assemblies, and cable-operated assemblies; repair or adjust proximity switches or cam-operated air limit valves; replace and adjust tracks; repair hydrostatic transmissions.
Knowledge of troubleshooting electrical systems; repair lights, starters, alternators, voltage, distributors, electrical systems, windshield wipers, load test batteries and charging systems. Ability to weld and fabricate on dump bodies, boom systems, and general heavy-gauge steel bodies.
Knowledge of electronic and on-board computer systems.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of construction, design, repair and adjustment of diesel and gasoline engines.
Knowledge of tools and equipment needed for major and minor repairs of diesel and gasoline engines.
Knowledge of both light and heavy-duty electrical systems.
Knowledge of the principles of operation of diesel-fueled and gasoline internal combustion engines.
Ability to diagnose defects and failures of diesel and gasoline engines.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Education and Experience
High School graduation or equivalent. 4 years’ experience at the journeyman level as a automotive or diesel mechanic. ASE certified preferred.
