This role may also support the adjacent Beaver Falls facility, a 107 MW one‑unit combined‑cycle dual‑fuel cogeneration plant supplying steam to two paper mills. Both plants play a key role in the regional energy landscape.
Opportunity Summary The Instrumentation, Controls, & Electrical (IC&E) / O&M Technician is responsible for continuous system monitoring, alarm response, plant shutdown/start‑up procedures, and ensuring safe, efficient operation. The role includes troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing instrumentation, DCS, and PLC systems, supporting planned outages, emergency repairs, and routine maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
Perform instrumentation and control activities to support planned outages, emergency repairs, and other maintenance tasks.
Troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair power plant instrumentation, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
Maintain Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) equipment in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Follow established preventive and predictive maintenance plans to test and operate control equipment and systems.
Operate major auxiliary equipment, including air compressors, boiler feedwater and condensate systems, water treatment systems, and locally controlled electrical and mechanical equipment.
Execute operational orders from the Control Room Operator (CRO) for starting, securing, or preparing equipment for service.
Assist the CRO with start‑up, shutdown, and normal operations of power plant systems.
Perform inspections, make minor repairs, and adjust equipment to maintain proper operating conditions.
Maintain plant DC emergency battery backup systems.
Collect and log plant operating data; report abnormalities and take corrective action within operating instructions.
Participate in root cause analysis of abnormal conditions, alarms, and equipment trips.
Ensure all equipment repairs or modifications comply with manufacturer guidelines.
Adhere to all plant safety policies, Environmental, NERC, and other regulatory compliance codes and regulations.
Maintain accurate records of plant maintenance work using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Support special projects and tasks as assigned by the Plant Manager.
