Craft Foreman

to join our Houston, TX team supporting our

Water/Wastewater Division .

Position Summary The

Craft Foreman

is responsible for leading and organizing field crews to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of project tasks. This position requires strong technical skills, effective communication, and the ability to coordinate closely with field management, inspectors, and other team members. The Craft Foreman plays a key role in maintaining productivity, safety compliance, and quality assurance on water/wastewater projects.

Primary Responsibilities

Relay daily tasks and work assignments to craft crews as directed by the Project Superintendent.

Perform layout and elevation setup, interpret construction drawings, and ensure dimensional accuracy.

Organize, lead, and monitor crews to achieve production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Verify work accuracy, conduct daily Safety Task Assignments (STAs), and ensure compliance with safety procedures.

Complete daily timesheets, certified payroll reports, and maintain field logs, including safety checklists and equipment inspections.

Coordinate and manage field materials, small tools, and equipment usage.

Support and assist with facility startup activities and coordinate work per shop drawings and as-built documentation.

Provide input on production plans, assist with 5-week schedules, and monitor project budgets for assigned tasks.

Identify drawing discrepancies, coordinate with field management to resolve issues, and communicate effectively with inspectors.

Maintain erosion control measures (SWPPP compliance) and ensure corrective actions when needed.

Lead morning stretch and flex, promote a culture of safety, and support craft worker training and development.

Technical Skills

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.

Proficient in layout and elevation setup using survey equipment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Current training as a

Competent Person

in trenching, scaffolds, rigging, confined space, and fall protection.

Preferred ability to operate heavy equipment such as skid-steer, loader, and excavator.

Qualifications

Minimum of five (5) years of construction-related experience, with a proven record of quality and profitable craft work.

Demonstrated leadership abilities, team management, and patience in supervising crews.

Strong understanding of safety regulations and field compliance requirements.

Regular communication with Project Superintendent for daily tasks, coordination, and issue resolution.

Ability to communicate and coordinate directly with city inspectors and subcontractors.

Preferred experience in water/wastewater construction or civil construction projects, particularly booster pump stations.

Safety Responsibilities

Lead by example in practicing and enforcing all safety rules and company policies.

Conduct and document daily STAs and safety meetings.

Ensure all crew members follow site-specific safety requirements.

Assist in accident investigations and risk management processes.

Monitor subcontractor safety compliance and address violations promptly.

Schedule and facilitate training as needed to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
