Senior Contracts Analyst - 17188
Description
The Senior Contracts Analyst is responsible for all aspects of the contracting process including proposal preparation, fact finding, negotiation, contract administration, and contract closure. Responsible for the administration and proper coordination of various types of contracts, agreements and other legal documents with program management, finance/accounting, legal, and other functional areas as necessary. Participate in the identification, development, and defining of proposals. Participate within the contracts department in the development of best practice processes and procedures in Government contracts and change management. Performs contract administration functions on new and existing contracts as assigned.
What you will be responsible for:
Responsible for the entire contractual life‑cycle administration of contracts and other activity as assigned by the Contracts Manager and Contracts Director.
Prepares and administers routine correspondence, negotiation memoranda, and contract documentation to ensure timely and coordinated submittal.
Assists mid‑to‑high level business development, contracts, and project management professionals in working with internal or external business teams on issues and developments relative to assigned contracts, demonstrating an understanding of the business case and financial implications.
Review and analyze contract actions for identification of discrepancies, risks, and concerns; specific focus on initiation, administration, and change management.
Initiates internal documentation to authorize and direct work in accordance with standard operating procedures and contractual specifications.
Reviews regulatory flowdowns (FARS/DFARS) and advises business units on the risk and compliance requirements.
Analyzes new law, regulation and contract trends for potential impact on business unit goals and objectives.
All other duties as assigned.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from a four‑year college or university; or eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five (5) to seven (7) years relevant professional experience in Contract Administration or eight (8) to ten (10) years of combined relevant experience in contracts, aviation, defense, or aerospace.
Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), including FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 15 contracts, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and other related federal regulations.
Ability to draft moderate to complex, non‑routine contractual instruments.
Working knowledge of contracting concepts, Uniform Commercial Code, applicable public contract acquisition law and regulations, and applicable international contract law.

Location:
It is strongly preferred for this position to be based in Wood Dale, IL. However, other locations may be considered depending on the candidate's qualifications.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 annually, if the candidate is based in Wood Dale, IL. This range reflects the base salary for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location. AAR offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision/life and AD&D insurance, 401(k) savings plan with employer match, paid time off and holiday pay, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.
