About The Role
As a Captain at JSX, you’ll be at the controls of one of the most innovative aviation experiences in the industry. Your mission is to operate our aircraft safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with all regulations, while delivering exceptional service to every flight. Typical schedules average 3–5 legs per day over 14–16 days per month, prioritizing work‑life balance and returning you to your home base most nights.
Responsibilities
A Day In The Life
Pre-Flight Preparation
Review key flight details in Traxxall, including maintenance status, NOTAMs, fuel loads, weather conditions, and routing.
Collaborate with your First Officer to align on departure and arrival strategies, review alternate airports, and confirm any necessary diversion planning.
Conduct a thorough walk-around and complete all required pre-flight checks, flows, and safety procedures to ensure the aircraft is airworthy and ready for departure.
In-Flight Operations
Operate the aircraft in full compliance with FAA regulations, JSX SOPs, and industry safety standards.
Maintain ongoing communication with Mission Control (Dispatch), Ground Operations, ATC, and Flight Attendant to ensure a coordinated and seamless flight experience.
As Pilot-in-Command (PIC), you are the final authority on all decisions, using sound judgment and established protocols to navigate dynamic conditions with confidence and professionalism.
Post-Flight Duties
Assist with quick turn tasks, including light cabin tidying and supporting the Flight Attendant to ensure an on-time departure.
Log maintenance in Traxxall and communicate critical updates to Mission Control.
Record and confirm all OOOI times for accurate operational tracking and compliance.
Additional Responsibilities Include
Participating in recurrent training and performance evaluations to maintain proficiency and grow in your career.
Assist with baggage handling or other duties at smaller airports where ground support is limited.
Represent JSX with the highest standards of safety and professionalism, both in and out of the flight deck.

Required Experience
U.S. citizen or U.S. national in compliance with federal aviation security requirements
High School Diploma/GED
Minimum 2500 total flight hours
Minimum 2000 hours PIC on the ATR
Minimum 1000 multi-engine hours
Minimum 100 hours within the last 12 months
No FAA violations/accidents/incidents/suspensions
No significant training/check ride failures
Preferred Experience
3000+ total time
1500+ multi-engine hours
Current on ATR 42/72 within the last 3 years
Skill, Licenses, & Certifications
Valid FAA Pilot Certificate appropriate to the aircraft and operating position
Current Driver’s license and Passport
Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate
Current ATP or Commercial Multi-Engine Certificate
Current FCC Radio Operator’s Permit
Pay & Perks
Compensation during training is $150.00 per day (+ per diem). 14-day minimum per month salary. Productivity Pay and quarterly bonuses may apply.
