Business Development Manager – MedPharma

Our MedPharma division delivers high-volume metal stamping, thermoplastic molding, and value‑add assembly solutions to the medical device and life science industry with in‑house design and engineering support.
Key Responsibilities
Act as Market Segment Leader and Subject Matter Expert for Implantable Devices
Drive new business growth: revenue, margin, lead generation, and partnership tracking
Stratify and diversify the customer base, targeting large industry leaders, start‑ups, and contract manufacturers
Align target customer product portfolios with Weiss‑Aug’s capabilities
Provide “Voice of the Customer” feedback to shape strategic business planning and the technology roadmap
Lead “Hunter” activities to generate new leads and expand existing accounts to new sites and product teams
Partner with new product introduction (NPI) and process/innovation (PPI) teams to cultivate and “farm” the current customer base
Lead the delivery of unique, competitive, solution‑focused proposals, collaborating with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, NPD/NPI/PPI, Quality, Estimating, Systems Engineering, Accounting)
Negotiate contracts
Apply proven sales methodologies including “Challenger, Solution, and Command of Sales”
Work with Marketing to develop comprehensive campaigns supporting segment sales efforts and strategic customer identification
Additional Responsibilities
Create and lead content for marketing: social media, presentations, advertisements, speaking engagements, and more
Maintain in‑depth knowledge of competitors, target markets, and emerging trends through trade show participation, journals, customer feedback, and industry events
Maintain positive relationships with key engineering and procurement personnel at customer sites to secure new opportunities
Develop synergistic relationships within the Weiss‑Aug Group to ensure shared growth and success in meeting MedTech group goals
Prepare travel itineraries, sales reports, and maintain the company CRM tool – extensive travel (+50%) expected
Requirements
College degree or equivalent; engineering degree a plus
Minimum 5 years of field sales experience with manufacturing companies serving the Implantable Device industry
Professional selling, computer, and technical skills required
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Understanding of med‑tech regulatory/quality requirements (ISO13485, FDA, CFR820 Part 11, GxP, MedAccred)
Knowledge of thermoplastic molding, stamping, industrial manufacturing, machining, or contract manufacturing
Strong networking and relationships, including an existing list of purchasing/engineering contacts in the market segment that align with Weiss‑Aug Group capabilities
Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic
Experience in CRM tools
Pay Range $130k–$150k
