About the role

As a Facilities Manager, you are responsible for ensuring that the built environment works harmoniously. You make sure the places in which people work, play, learn, and live are safe, comfortable, productive, and sustainable. You will contribute to the organization’s bottom line through your responsibility for maintaining what are often an organization’s largest and most valuable assets, such as property, buildings, equipment, and other environments that house personnel, productivity, inventory, and other elements of operation. This role is onsite 5 days a week in Landover, Maryland Responsibilities:

Refrigeration System Reliability:

Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot ammonia-based systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, and valves. Ensure all equipment runs safely and efficiently. Safety & Compliance:

Uphold OSHA, EPA, and facility safety protocols. Act as a HazMat responder when needed. Implement lock-out/tag-out and enforce safe work practices. Preventative Maintenance & Repairs:

Lead daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections. Drive preventative maintenance programs for refrigeration, HVAC, PIT equipment, and other facility systems to reduce unplanned downtime. Facility Oversight:

Manage all facility services including HVAC, refrigeration, janitorial, security, fire sprinkler inspections, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other operational equipment. Emergency Response:

Respond to system malfunctions, shutdowns, and emergencies quickly and effectively. Train team members on SOP and emergency action procedures. Vendor/Contractor & Budget Management:

Procure bids, negotiate contracts, and manage service providers. Track facility budgets, expenses, and equipment maintenance costs. Training & Development:

Train warehouse staff and supervisors on SOPs for refrigeration checks, system monitoring, and emergency protocols. Must have:

Strong working knowledge of compressors, evaporators, condensers, HVAC units, and associated controls Proven success in refrigeration system pump-downs, repairs, and preventive maintenance Understanding of OSHA safety, HazMat protocols, and environmental compliance Facility services management experience (security, fire, janitorial, equipment maintenance) Ability to read and interpret refrigeration blueprints, P&ID, and technical documentation Strong troubleshooting skills (electrical and mechanical) Excellent organizational, vendor management, and reporting skills Nice to have:

7-10 years experience in Ammonia Refrigeration Management HazMat Responder Certification Six Sigma (Green Belt) or Project Management Certification Food Safety Certification or OSHA Certification Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or equivalent technical certifications/experience 5+ years of ammonia-based refrigeration experience and facility operations in an industrial/warehouse setting Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite for reporting and documentation Experience managing facility budgets, contracts, and vendors Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in cold/freezer environments Availability to respond to emergencies 24/7 when required Knowledge of facility management responsibilities, systems, and procedures Exceptional attention to detail Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to prioritize Self-starter and driven Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities Compensation Range

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $88,000 - $103,000 This role may be eligible for discretionary bonus, incentives, and benefits Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for new hires for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by multiple factors such as job-related skills, experience, and work locations.
