Overview
Senior Process Operator II role at Natgasoline LLC. Under the direction of the Operations Shift Supervisor, the Senior Process Operator II will perform in-depth operating functions in the areas of DCS, field operations, process and quality control, start-up/shutdown, and emergency response. Responsibilities
Safely operate pumps, compressors, fired heaters, boilers, reactors, distillation columns, and other plant equipment within safe operating ranges. Participate in the Company Emergency Response Team (ERT). Make changes to the operating process as necessary to maintain product quality. Adjust control instruments, valves, or switches to regulate the pressure, temperature, or flow rate of the product; to direct the flow of product to other units, or to maintain specified levels in tanks and towers. Operate control room instrumentation systems and coordinate activities with outside operators. Monitor the performance of plant equipment and process conditions. Read flow meters, temperature and pressure gauges. Take routine readings on process variables. Have working knowledge of the DCS, control loops, and Emergency shutdown (ESD)/Safety Interlock System (SIS) trip logic. Promptly respond to process alarms/constraints. Perform general maintenance, repair, and cleanup of plant equipment for safe and efficient operation. Draw samples of products from the process for laboratory testing. Perform lab testing on some products. Perform the functions of an Emergency Response Crew member or provide general support. Generate Work Orders (WOs), prepare logs, and submit them to SPS. Capable of understanding and following plant policies and procedures. Able to troubleshoot problems to determine resolution within safe operating limits. Follow all relevant company policies and procedures. Act in the place of the Operation Shift Supervisor as a Step-Up Supervisor as required. Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required; Minimum seven (7) years of process operations experience in a chemical or refining plant required; A two (2) year associate degree in Process Operations is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: In-depth knowledge of SOPs, plant equipment, and process controls; Comprehensive knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS); Ability to write operating procedures; Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Physical and Other Requirements
Physical: Ability to lift 20 lbs. occasionally; sit for prolonged periods; work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of scaffolds, stairs, and ladders, at varied heights; able to wear PPE (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection). Environmental: Work is performed in an industrial setting with exposure to heavy machinery, equipment, and confined spaces; indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions; typically loud and may require PPE. Work schedule: Rotating 12-hour Day/Night shift from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., including weekends, holidays, and overtime (required). May work longer hours to meet deadlines or to support facility emergencies. Travel: Less than 10% of the time. Disclaimer
