Project Manager/Estimator . The candidate will be responsible for the bid process and overall project completion. Job Responsibilities
Prepare, bid, and manage industrial, government, state, city, and private projects in a timely manner. Attend and present at periodic meetings. Communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with owners, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers to foster future business opportunities. Participate in bid meetings and site walk-throughs to determine scope, complexities, accessibilities, and estimate content. Assist with billing on all projects. Estimate field change orders for assigned projects. Prepare estimates and assist with large-scale projects. Manage responsibilities independently. Follow the company's safety program. Travel periodically within a 300-mile radius. Develop detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans, specifications, and performing quantity take-offs. Develop subcontractor interest and manage the RFP process. Assist in preparing detailed project schedules. Maintain professionalism under tight deadlines. Skills/Qualifications
Preferred degree in Civil or Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. At least two years of experience with a heavy highway civil contractor. Understanding of civil grading operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with bidding software (e.g., HeavyBid) is preferred. Strong knowledge of estimating strategies, engineering disciplines, and cost control. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with good organizational abilities. Ability to handle heavy workloads and quick estimate turnarounds. Excellent math skills. Team player with responsibility in the bidding process. Compensation
