Cyber Operations Manager
to join our team in
Fayetteville, NC .
In this role, you will contribute to a mission-focused team that will support military operators and mission partners by modernizing the IT environment, integrating advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) for data analytics, and providing enterprise persistent services like chat, video, and data mapping through various engineering and cybersecurity initiatives.
Responsibilities
Planning, directing, or coordinating activities in such fields as electronic data processing, information systems, systems analysis, and computer programming.
Directing the daily activities of the Cyber Operations Team, including incident response, vulnerability management, and threat hunting.
Ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF, DoD 8500-series) and advising senior leadership on evolving threat landscapes.
Collaborating with system owners, mission stakeholders, and other IT teams to ensure proper security controls are in place across infrastructure.
Managing personnel, resources, and the operational tempo of the Security Operations Center (SOC) to ensure the effective execution of Cybersecurity requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related technical field with a minimum of 9+ years position specific, relevant experience.
4+ years of position-specific relevant experience managing cybersecurity teams or a Security Operations Center (SOC).
Proven ability to manage cyber programs in DoD, IC, or similarly complex environments.
Hands‑on experience with security monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection).
Strong working knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53 controls, and applicable security compliance mandates.
Preferred Qualifications
A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
Experience managing a 24x7 SOC or cyber defense operations.
ITIL, CISM, or GIAC certifications (e.g., GCIA, GCIH).
Experience managing geographically distributed teams or hybrid operations environments.
Familiarity with cloud security practices and hybrid on-prem/cloud architectures.
Clearance Requirements
Must have an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI.
Physical Requirements
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and/or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
