Fire Alarm Service Technician II

Convergint is looking for a full‑time, enthusiastic, results‑driven and forward‑thinking Fire Alarm Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role you will install, program, perform system start‑up/check‑out, testing/commissioning, customer training and all associated documentation on assigned projects, including more complex projects. Responsibilities

Installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation. Serves as the key interface for technical support and training for the customer, accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. Interprets manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams and repairs equipment using standard test instruments and hand tools. Applies knowledge of building, mechanical, sprinkler and fire codes. Coaches and mentors less experienced colleagues. Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions; writes routine programs for systems. Consults with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work. Provides feedback to management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques and potential product improvements. Executes technical aspects of multiple projects (programming, graphics development, start‑up, certification testing, customer training, close‑out documentation, ongoing support). Identifies potential project risks, communicates them, and assists in developing strategies to mitigate impact and control deviations. Works with Fire Alarm Designer to ensure systems meet all relevant codes and standards. Collaborates with Project Manager/Operations Manager for overall project coordination and quality improvement. Qualifications

Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure. Ability to convey complex subject matter to non‑technical audiences. Self‑starter with little supervision. Understanding of electronics (Ohm’s law, resistor color code, relay logic). Mechanical and electrical aptitude (hand & power tools). Experience programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning Edwards or equivalent fire alarm systems. Willingness to obtain necessary certifications/licensing (e.g., NICET Level II, low‑voltage electrical license). Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Ability to travel locally to jobsites; minimal overnight travel may be required. Licenses & Certifications Required

TX Fire Alarm License EST 3 or 4 certification Fire alarm inspections experience Preferred Experience

Associate degree in Electronics or related field (or equivalent military experience). 3‑5 years relevant field service. NICET certification. TX Fire Extinguisher License. Company Benefits
