About GKN Automotive GKN Automotive powers the world’s mobility with advanced driveline technologies. Our teams design, develop, and manufacture conventional, all‑wheel, and electrified systems for more than 90% of global automakers—pairing innovation with dependable performance.
A Day in This Role Your shift begins with a quick stand‑up: safety, quality, plan. You align a cross‑functional cell—production, materials, maintenance, and quality—around the targets for your assigned value stream. You verify resource availability, balance labor, confirm material readiness, and assess any risks to schedule, throughput, or quality. As the line runs, you remove bottlenecks using lean tools, coach team leaders on standard work, and review process metrics. You collaborate with quality to address deviations, and with HSE to reinforce compliance across the floor. When customer demand spikes, you make informed decisions on overtime and adjust work schedules to meet daily and weekly goals. Throughout the day, you facilitate communication across shifts and departments so lessons learned become shared knowledge. By close, you’ve advanced continuous improvement actions that make tomorrow’s work safer, simpler, and more reliable.
