Project Manager, Standards

to lead engineering standards for coastal infrastructure and support asset management across the department. The PM will report to the Director, Engineering and contribute to the development and implementation of an Operations Planning & Asset Management system for BCR, coordinating with the Bureau of Water and Sewer Operations. Responsibilities

Lead the development of Engineering Standards for coastal infrastructure, including a new class of coastal storm risk management infrastructure, and for existing DEP assets along the shoreline. With minimal supervision, review coastal infrastructure designs such as outfalls and tidegates. Coordinate with City Agencies on contract management for assets under construction along NYC’s 520 miles of coastline, and on plans for outfalls, tide gates, and other coastal assets. Coordinate design reviews of City-wide coastal resilience projects, identifying risks and impacts on existing and new DEP infrastructure. Assist in the preparation of Requests for Proposals, review of consultant proposals, and review of contract documents. Assist with commissioning and acceptance of new coastal resilience assets. Perform complex CMMS work and participate in committees/workshops to implement a new CMMS system. Organize and manage information and data of infrastructure assets; collect, analyze, and report data on physical condition, asset performance, and reliability; determine condition monitoring frequency and data required to support predictive maintenance within CMMS; apply condition monitoring and predictive maintenance methodologies. Provide data analytics support to the BCR team. Work with NYC Emergency Management (NYCEM) and DEP Emergency Management to ensure communities are prepared for coastal flood events and know actions to take before, during, and after events; understand risks to life and property from coastal flood risks. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with counterparts in federal, state, regional, and local agencies, community leaders, and the public. Engage with the public (e.g., at public meetings) and other stakeholders to raise awareness about coastal resilience initiatives. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. Minimum Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting, for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; or A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and five years of experience as described above; or A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of the experience and/or college education described above to make up the equivalent of five years of education and experience. One year of credit will be given for each 30 semester credits of college education leading to a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration. Preferred Skills

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with advanced communication skills, a solid working knowledge of project management procedures, engineering standards, asset management, and urban resilience practices. Additional Information
