Summary The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for purchasing and logistics tasks. The role organizes, controls, and monitors purchasing activities for assigned Spare Parts for all teams and subsidiary materials, targeting maximum contribution to the operating result. They work within a cross‑functional team environment in Hanwha Q Cells USA Inc. and other subsidiaries of Hanwha Group, communicating with Asia plants.

The Purchasing Specialist will oversee purchasing and logistics tasks, coordinating with production, finance, logistics, and quality teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of spare parts and subsidiary materials.

Responsibilities

Track the progress of PO from creation to delivery.

Check PR/PO/GR/Payment closing in QPS and SAP (Monthly AP Closing included).

Determine Purchase Order on basis of sales forecast and stock level; weekly communication with planning and production teams.

Check PRs, issue PO in QPS, manage goods receipt, article creation/modification, and system flow.

Follow payment release in QPS based on vendor invoices and payment terms.

Coordinate inventory management with planning and logistics teams.

Manage out‑of‑stock and risk scenarios with concerned services.

Negotiate with overseas vendors and propose logistics solutions.

Produce monthly reports on expenditures and savings (cost reduction, innovation, avoidance).

Work closely with internal stakeholders (Planning, Finance, Logistics, Production, Quality).

Negotiate with external accounts for competitive unit price and contract terms (collaborate with HQ purchasing team for raw materials).

Supervise supplier performance on lead‑time, reactivity, reliability, flexibility.

Participate in production planning and capacity optimization.

Optimize inland and overseas transport to reduce costs.

Manage purchasing tasks by supplier type to fit material properties.

Maintain strong supplier relationships across raw material domains.

Handle intensive supplier management during issue resolution.

Serve as key supply chain contact for relevant supplier scope.

Build strong collaboration network with other supply chain services.

Adhere to Hanwha Q CELLS policies and procedures.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related fields.

0–5 years of related experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.

Strong knowledge of purchasing, procurement, production planning, or finance.

Proficiency in MS Excel.

Ability to tolerate a fast‑paced work environment in non climate‑controlled areas.

Physical Requirements

Able to stand and walk in the production area throughout the workday.

Reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting as required within limits set by Q Cells.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years of purchasing or procurement experience.

Experience in high‑tech manufacturing industry and startups.

Proficiency in MS Office applications and SAP.

Proficient in CAD program.

Bilingual fluency in both Korean and English.
