Commercial Business Analyst The
Commercial Business Analyst
supports Global Commercial Operations through data-driven insights and business analysis. The
Commercial Business Analyst
is responsible for collecting and analyzing financial data, understanding commercial environments and opportunities, developing strategic and sales forecasts, evaluating business performance, and providing actionable insights to drive revenue growth and profitability. While reporting into the CFO, this role works closely with Strategic Accounts, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to support optimized commercial strategies and execution.
Responsibilities
Analyze sales performance and trends, margin performance, cost drivers, customer behavior, and market trends to support commercial decision-making.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs across commercial functions.
Support data requirements for Marketing to evaluate pricing strategy, promotional effectiveness, and customer segmentation data.
Develop and communicate expert-level knowledge of commercial operations.
Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to support pricing strategies, customer profitability, product performance, and other strategic initiatives.
Assist in forecasting revenue and margin performance across products, channels, and regions.
Work with IT and Finance to ensure data integrity and consistency across commercial financial systems and reports.
Identify areas for operational improvement and cost optimization within commercial processes.
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and actionable format.
Prepare results and findings for FP&A to utilize in company analyses and reporting for leadership, ownership, Board members, and other stakeholders.
Assist in evaluating new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion strategies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
2–5 years of experience in business analysis, commercial analytics, or strategy.
Strong proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
Demonstrated intellectual curiosity with a passion for uncovering insights and driving strategic impact.
Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong business acumen and understanding of commercial operations.
Preferred Skills
Experience in Life Sciences.
Experience with CRM and ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, Oracle).
Familiarity with pricing models and market research methodologies.
Understanding of financial metrics and commercial performance drivers.
