Job Overview:
Fiber Installation Technician (Cable Installer) works both inside and outside the home, responsible for installing and enhancing customer experience of broadband, digital TV, high-speed Internet, and voice services. Company Provides:
Vehicle, Gas, Cell Phone, Tablet, Uniform Starting pay is $22.00/hr. Typical Service Order Tasks Include:
Connecting fiber optic jumpers and drops (AERIAL, BURIED, AND PLENUM) Running temporary fiber drops safely Splicing fiber drop connectors Installing ONT and power supplies Running/reusing COAX or CAT5 wiring Burying CAT5/COAX up to 50 ft. Internet Service Installations:
Installing hubs and routers, utilizing MOCA technology, configuring customer computers, and verifying service. Video Service Installations (if ordered):
Running COAX to TV boxes, setting up network interfaces, initializing set-top boxes, programming remotes, and customer education. Job Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Weight limit of 275 lbs., ability to lift up to 100 lbs. Flexible hours, including weekends and holidays Pre-employment background check and drug screening Ability to distinguish wire and cable colors Completion of training to stay current in telecommunications Availability to be “on call” and “on standby” Additional Skills & Knowledge:
Knowledge of computer OS, cabling electronic components, electrical principles, and tools Customer service skills, sales awareness, teamwork, and independence Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Physical Demands & Work Environment:
Standing, walking, climbing, balancing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, driving, reaching, smelling Heavy manual tasks, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 100 lbs.
