Overview
This exciting role is a crucial leader in supporting the plant to drive quality, process improvements, and ensure optimal plant performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in continuously improving the batch polyester resin processes, leveraging their engineering expertise and problem-solving skills to enhance the safety, quality, and productivity of the plant. Salary Range:

Manage a team of site engineers and participate in areas such as chemical process improvement, automation, capital expenditure planning, and execution. Ensure the highest levels of plant reliability by leading the Plant Engineers and Maintenance teams in effective management of the maintenance organization, including outside contracting. Improve the business performance of the site by optimizing capacity gains, project execution, asset reliability, and waste reduction. Implement new and innovative processing techniques that improve plant performance in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity by leveraging established engineering practices. In collaboration with the Plant Engineers, oversee the management of the site's Capital Expenditure program, including the budgeting process, project selection, and execution. Provide tools and practices to achieve 100% on-time, on-budget projects. In collaboration with the Plant Engineers, oversee the management of the Site Maintenance and Reliability management system. Assist in the development of strategies and corresponding initiatives focused on both improvements in the reliability of key utility and processing equipment, as well as efficiency of the department, including determining and developing technician skill areas and levels, and appropriate outsourcing of contracted maintenance and repair. Manage the site Quality function, comprised of two teams servicing multiple businesses and technologies. Work in collaboration with direct reports and the Corporate R&D and Quality functions to develop and implement strategies that improve site quality performance metrics and customer satisfaction. Provide leadership in managing the site's ISO-9001 quality management system. Assume a site leadership role as the Plant Manager's key direct report. Drive site engagement in the support of the company's core values, including and most notably our EHS values, by maintaining and enforcing all company EHS requirements. Manage assigned departmental budgets and projects. Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering 7+ years' experience in batch chemical processing preferred. 5 years' experience leading or managing an engineering team Experienced in applying continuous improvement analytical programs such as SPC/SQC, Six Sigma, and Lean. Working knowledge of wet chemistry analytical equipment. Proficient in various software, including MiniTab, AutoCAD, and typically used Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, etc.). 5+ years of hands-on capital project management, executing projects ranging from $100,000 to $5,000,000 both in a team and in an autonomous environment.
