Saturday & Sunday: 8:00am to 4:30pm; Monday through Wednesday 12:00pm to 8:30pm

Wednesday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm; Saturday & Sunday: 8:00am to 4:30pm

Bring the shine! We are looking for a Floor Care Technician with at least 1 year of custodian or janitorial experience to keep our spaces spotless. If you know your way around a buffer and love a job that keeps you moving, let’s talk!

Responsibilities

Clean and care for a variety of floor surfaces (tile, vinyl, carpet, concrete) using the appropriate methods for each. Includes regular sweeping, mopping, and scheduled deep cleaning.

Operate floor care machines such as buffers, auto-scrubbers, carpet extractors, burnishers, and vacuums for daily and project tasks.

Perform advanced floor care services like stripping old wax or finish, applying new coatings, buffing for shine, and deep-cleaning carpets (hot water extraction or bonnet methods).

Follow safety guidelines for chemicals and equipment; wear proper PPE.

Use equipment safely, clean and store it properly, and ensure it is in good working order.

Follow OSHA and facility safety standards to keep yourself and others safe.

Work independently or as part of a team to complete daily floor care duties and larger cleaning projects.

Communicate with your supervisor about equipment issues, supply needs, or floor damage.

Contribute to a clean, safe, and professional space by keeping floors free of spills and hazards.

Day in the Life

Start your shift by reviewing your schedule and gathering supplies and equipment.

Walk through assigned areas to check floor conditions and plan your work.

Sweep, mop, or vacuum floors to prepare for deeper cleaning.

Use machines like buffers, scrubbers, and extractors to clean and polish floors.

Strip and wax floors or deep-clean carpets, depending on surface and schedule.

Monitor equipment performance and clean or refill machines as needed.

Stay alert for spills, hazards, or damage and report or fix them as appropriate.

Wrap up by cleaning equipment, storing supplies, and logging completed work.

What You'll Need

Minimum of 1 year custodian/janitorial experience.

Strong attention to detail; pride in clean, polished results.

Good time management; ability to stay on task and meet deadlines.

Self-motivated; able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Team player; works well with others on larger projects.

Clear communication; reports issues and follows directions.

Positive attitude; takes ownership of the job and stays professional.

Bonus If You Have

Experience using floor care machines (buffers, auto-scrubbers, burnishers, carpet extractors).

Knowledge of floor types (tile, vinyl, carpet, concrete) and proper cleaning and maintenance.

Stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours per shift on hard surfaces.

Use hands and arms for repetitive tasks such as mopping, scrubbing, and operating machines.

Lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds.

Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach to clean under furniture or along baseboards.

Operate heavy-duty floor care equipment like buffers, burnishers, and carpet extractors.

Maintain good vision and hearing to safely use equipment and communicate with team members.

Wear PPE such as gloves, goggles, or masks when needed.

Work indoors in busy, high-traffic areas like hallways, lobbies, or dining spaces.

Be exposed to cleaning chemicals and disinfectants; follow safety procedures.

Handle noise and vibration from machines.

Work in varying temperatures and environments near entrances or loading zones.

Navigate around furniture, equipment, and people in shared workspaces.
