Safety and Compliance Manager

Position Summary The Safety and Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining behavior-based safety programs that promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization. This role ensures full compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations while supporting operational excellence in all Prairie Field Services locations. In addition, this position oversees compliance management in several key areas, including DOT, ISNetworld (ISN), Veriforce, DISA, and customer‑specific safety and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with senior leadership to strengthen and promote Prairie’s One Team, safety‑focused culture.
Provide EHS leadership, guidance, and oversight to all levels of the organization.
Serve as the company’s primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, external customers, and internal stakeholders on all safety and compliance matters.
Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Oversee company compliance with DOT, ISN, Veriforce, DISA, and customer‑driven requirements.
Lead the company’s ‘Co‑lab’ committee.
Lead the company’s employee recognition programs: Driver champ, Good Catch Program, KUDOS, etc.
Assess operational practices, facilities, and procedures to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address safety concerns.
Lead all incident investigations and root‑cause analyses; maintain proper documentation and follow‑up actions.
Manage the IVMS (In‑Vehicle Monitoring System) reporting and analytics program.
Co‑manage the Workers’ Compensation program in partnership with the HR Manager.
Deliver safety training and mentorship to field and shop teams, ensuring consistent adherence to Prairie’s safety mission.
Prepare and communicate safety metrics, reports, and updates to management and staff as needed.
Collect, disseminate, and manage company‑specific safety information through the EHS Insight program, including SWA, near miss, OSHA recordable, and Job Site Observations (JSOs).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Management or a related field.
5+ years of progressive EHS experience, ideally within oilfield or energy operations.
Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.).
Experience with ISNetworld, Veriforce, DISA, H2S, and SafeLand certification processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel to remote field locations, primarily in Texas.
Ability to spend significant time in field environments observing operations.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Compensation & Benefits
Annual Salary: $75,000 – $100,000 (exempt position)
Bonus: Eligible for up to 20% annual performance bonus based on company results
