Quality Control Supervisor

to oversee the integrity of our feed production process. This role is responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming ingredients, outgoing products, and maintaining accurate and compliant records. The

Quality Control Supervisor

plays a critical role in upholding our commitment to excellence by ensuring all production aligns with the standards set by the Director of Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs, as well as all applicable state and federal regulations. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Administrative Responsibilities:

Communication : Regularly communicate with the facility management team. Report factors affecting feed quality and safety to plant management and corporate QA

Safety and Housekeeping : Enforce safety and housekeeping policies; ensure documentation of housekeeping activities.

QC Meetings : Conduct monthly QC committee meetings; document and file meeting notes.

Training : Review and assist with training on SOPs related to feed quality and safety; train new plant personnel.

Audits : Assist with internal and third-party audits.

Facility Monitoring Responsibilities:

SOP Verification : Ensure SOPs for ingredient and bulk feed transporter verification are followed accurately. Conduct mock recalls.

Housekeeping SOPs : Verify proper cleanout of equipment, coverage of premixes, and cleanup of spillage.

Documentation : Maintain production records as per SOP guidelines, ensuring forms are complete and accurate

Ingredient Receiving and Product Release

Testing : Test incoming ingredients for mycotoxins; train personnel on testing procedures.

Inspection : Inspect incoming ingredients and fill out reports; collect and prepare samples for testing.

Release Programs : Manage positive release programs and investigate failed lots.

Compliance

Record Review : Daily review of production records for discrepancies.

Medication Inventory : Supervise medication inventory and ensure compliance with SOPs.

Investigations : Investigate non-compliant feed and customer complaints; document findings.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.

Computer skills, including the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Sharepoint.

High level of communication and interpersonal skills.

Thorough understanding of Animal Feed current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s).

Knowledge of animal Food Safety Plans, Preventative Controls and Hazard Analysis.

Knowledge of Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

Ability to lift a minimum of 55lbs from floor to working height as job requires.

Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.

Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

TRAVEL EXPECTED:

Minimal, training and department meetings.
