This role oversees and coordinates the shipment of materials, both outbound and inbound, on a daily basis. The Shipping Supervisor ensures communication between shifts as well as communication with other departments on shipping status, inventory updates, and shipping metrics. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the on-time and in full shipping of sales orders. This role will work with HR to maintain accurate staffing levels for the shipping team on all shifts. The Shipping Supervisor has day to day oversight of the Shipping Team and Shipping warehouse. Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures sales orders and picking tickets are printed and distributed to shipping department. Monitors shipping schedule and takes corrective actions to ensure on time and in full shipments for all sales orders. Backs up to Logistics Coordinators and Shipping Lead as needed. Communicates in both Spanish and English with second-shift and third-shift staff on a daily basis. Compiles freight costs into Excel spreadsheets for purposes of reviewing freight costs by customer and carrier with management. Works with planning and production departments to ensure schedules are being met to ensure all product groups are shipping on time. Supervises the Shipping production teammates in a union facility, including interviewing and onboarding new teammates, teammate reviews and scheduling, cross-training in different shipping areas, holding teammates accountable, and working with HR to implement disciplinary action as needed. Ensures the shipping teammates are properly trained in their signed roles and that the shipping team follows the correct processes, procedures, and methods, as well as all company rules to work safely at all times. Ensures scanning equipment/ERP is used correctly on a daily basis and that shipping/receiving scans are accurate in the ERP system. Ensures shipping team completes paperwork correctly and follows proper processes for paperwork. Monitors ADP daily to approve paid time off, update and approve timecards, and record attendance per company policy. Responsible for improving Shipping department efficiency and effectiveness. Responsible for 5S in the shipping area and ensuring the warehouse is kept clean and organized according to 5S standards. Qualifications

Associate degree and two years of experience in a leadership role in a shipping or receiving environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Previous supervisory experience required. Ability to multi-task and be deadline-oriented in a fast-paced, union environment. Ability to work with little or no supervision. Knowledge of computerized ERP systems required. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook required. Language Skills
Ability to read, write, analyze, and communicate in English required. Communicate with other departments and upper management in a timely manner. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, teammates, truck drivers, or regulatory agencies in a professional manner. Ability to effectively collect and present information to all teammates whether production or management. Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While this position will consist of some office work, it is in a manufacturing facility. The employee is regularly required to be on the production floor and comply with the dress code and PPE requirement such as safety glasses with side shields and steel-toed shoes. Temperatures and noise levels vary. Must be able to have flexibility to interact with all 3 shifts. Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, speak, and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with arms, hands, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move greater than 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. Must have a valid driver's license.
