Position Overview This is a remote position with an ideal base location in Austin, TX. The manager will be responsible for the Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, and Lower Rio Grande Valley areas.
Responsibilities
Executing company on‑ and off‑premise strategic initiatives throughout the Austin/San Antonio market and surrounding areas.
Evaluating, implementing and executing programs within brand strategies in field activities.
Leading, directing, training and managing local distributor sales teams.
Managing distributors on a day‑to‑day basis, ensuring adherence to brand policies and achievement of distribution objectives.
Training distributor salespeople, observing competitive market activity and evaluating distributor execution.
Supporting the Regional Manager – Direct report.
Meeting with key on‑ and off‑premise accounts within the assigned area to develop strong working relationships.
Presenting and leveraging brands for increased volume, assisting distributor in attaining goals and objectives.
Being visible at distributor office, meeting sales representatives and management to ensure share of mind.
Aligning with local events and participating where the opportunity fits the strategy, including execution of national initiatives.
Acting as primary contact for distributor sales teams to provide local and national objectives and program support.
Executing product seminars at accounts with distributor sales teams.
Providing National Account Mandate compliance updates as required.
Staying informed of customer and consumer trends.
Maintaining a calendar of activities and promotions, ensuring distributor and third‑party agency communication; managing third‑party promotional activity; executing brand trainings.
Providing monthly market activity reports to the Regional Manager, including objectives, accomplishments, competition activity, special projects and needs.
Providing market and competitive brand updates to supervisor with timely communication of changing field conditions and staffing changes.
Reviewing programs and execution updates with distributor management.
Evaluating effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives (programs, POS, advertising, etc.).
Special projects such as verifying pricing and distribution at on‑ and off‑premise accounts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing or related field.
Five (5) or more years of work‑related experience in the distilled spirits/wine supplier industry.
Strong analytical skills, gathering data from a wide variety of sources and presenting it appropriately.
Sales and marketing knowledge of principles and methods for promoting and selling products, including strategy, product demonstration, sales techniques and control systems.
Good managerial and presentation skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
Stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle objects, and use computer; reach with hands and arms.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
