Overview

Product Manager - U.S. Agency RMBS & CMBS Structured Products Location: New York Business Area: Product Ref #: 10047275 Description & Requirements

Bloomberg’s BVAL (Bloomberg Evaluated Pricing) group is a market leader in fixed income pricing and the pricing provider to the Bloomberg Indices. BVAL prices over 3 million bonds multiple times daily for buy side, sell side, and custodial clients — including complex, thinly traded, and hard-to-price securities. We are seeking an experienced Product Manager with deep domain expertise in U.S. Agency RMBS (Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities) and CMBS (Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities) markets, as well as a proven track record of leading cross-functional product initiatives in financial data or analytics environments. The ideal candidate will combine strong product management acumen with deep technical and market knowledge across structured and whole loan agency mortgage products — including CMBS types such as Fannie DUS, Freddie K, and Ginnie Project Loans. This role will play a critical part in advancing BVAL’s pricing methodologies for mortgage-related products, owning the full product lifecycle — from strategy and roadmap development to execution, stakeholder alignment, and client adoption. You will collaborate closely with quantitative research, engineering, data operations, and sales teams to deliver accurate, scalable, and transparent evaluated pricing solutions. Exposure or experience in the Private ABF market would be a plus, as BVAL expands its evaluated pricing coverage. You’ll need to have: 10+ years of experience in mortgage-related structured products, including at least 5+ years in a product management or product ownership role within financial markets, data analytics, or technology. Proven ability to translate complex market and client requirements into actionable product strategies and technical specifications. Deep understanding of pool- and loan-level analytics, including prepayment and credit modeling, OAS frameworks, and cash flow modeling. Experience managing cross-functional teams and aligning quantitative, engineering, and commercial stakeholders around product goals. Fluency in data analysis and familiarity with technical tools (Python, R, SQL) to evaluate large financial datasets and model outputs. Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build consensus across diverse teams. Experience working in an agile or hybrid product development environment, driving iterative delivery and measurable outcomes. We’d love to see: Experience with Agency MBS models (e.g., Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) and CMBS deal structures (conduit, SASB, CRE CLO). Background in evaluated pricing, fixed income analytics, or portfolio risk management systems. Familiarity with loan-level and deal-level data providers and data integration workflows. Prior experience in financial product management, fixed income trading platforms, or analytics solution design. Knowledge of Bloomberg Terminal functionality for MBS and CMBS analytics (e.g., MBSD, CMBS, SRCH, YAS). Exposure to Private ABF or similar private credit markets. If you are passionate about building data-driven products that advance transparency and innovation in the mortgage-backed securities market — and want to shape the future of BVAL’s mortgage pricing platform —
