Sr. Buyer - Curtiss-Wright Corporation (East Farmingdale, NY)
We are looking for a
Sr. Buyer
to join our Target Rock team.
Location:
East Farmingdale, NY
Salary/hourly rate:
$74,100 to $107,100
Note:
The salary range information provided is a general guideline only, reflecting a position based in New York. Criteria such as the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the position, and market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.
Responsibilities
Solicit quotations from a base of qualified vendors, place purchase orders, follow up, and expediting orders to meet established schedules.
Solicit support from other departments to resolve questions or problems as necessary.
Know the value of what is being purchased and ensure that purchases meet schedules within budgeted guidelines.
Negotiate purchase order terms regarding quality and cost savings.
Provide communication with vendors and other departments; lead vendor follow-up and expedited deliveries.
Conduct periodic visits to vendors.
Participate in assigned duties as directed by Supervisor and resolve CW Pay issues.
Participate in KTL meetings and update actions as applicable.
What You Bring
Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience as a buyer.
Must be a US citizen.
Prior experience in a machine shop environment.
Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision; well-organized and detail-oriented with time management skills.
Prior experience with ORACLE ERP is desirable; familiarity with MRP is a plus; working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.
Must be able to make independent decisions.
Education / Training
High School degree required; a College degree in Business Administration or equivalent work experience preferred.
