Job Description:

The Production Logistics Coordinator’s role is to ensure that all materials and logistical needs for their assigned shift are met to achieve operational and production standards. They are also responsible for ensuring the oncoming shift packaging material and donors are in place with lines setup for operation. To accomplish this, they must communicate with the Copack administrative staff, Packaging and Shift Supervisors to identify and align with the shift needs. They have overall responsibility for their shift returns which include all packaging materials and donor products.

Responsibilities

Review Copack Production Schedule to manage changes to daily activity

Provide assignments and training for lift operators and line leads at beginning of each shift

Assembles and distributes all production documentation, specifications and requirements for each line of oncoming shift

Provides Team Lead/Shift Supervisor support for at start-up of new items

Initiate and generate shift codes in system

Generate pallet labels as needed

Provide training for new line leads and forklift operators in Copack

Communicate previous shift’s donor and packaging returns to supervisor via e-mail and meeting in person

Provides additional Shift Supervisor support as needed when multiple issues arise

Provides Line Lead Training and Qualification documentation. Also provides back-up training as need for Shift Supervisor

Clears all warehouse doors at beginning of shift to support closing and timely transfer of materials from warehouse. Coordinates and resolves all issue in a timely manner

Coordinates all packaging and material assignments and placement for oncoming shift

Coordinates all product and packaging returns for respective shift

Monitors production personnel equipment and tools to ensure availability. Maintains radio inventory, knives, tape guns and misc. tools.

Counsel team members and document performance issues as needed, with follow-up communication to Staffing Supervisor

Monitors work area to ensure 5S principles are followed

Monitors powerlift/truck safety inspection and sign out forms for completeness.

Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.

Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education

Minimum of 1-3 years in a manufacturing or production environment

At least 1 year of that experience in managing or directing team activities or with direct supervision of people.

Strong oral and written communication skills

Basic math skills, must be able to add subtract, multiply and divide without a calculator

Ability to read and write English to ensure proper interpretation of customer specifications and requirements.

Understands and demonstrates Good Manufacturing Practices

Certified Forklift Operator with demonstrated performance

Training skills to train basic line tasks for new personnel and all Line Lead skills and functions for training of Line Leads.

Schedule:

Monday to Thursday (OT as needed) Hours: 4:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Pay Rate:

$18.00 per hour
