The Opportunity The role supports nationwide space missions by conducting orbital analysis and data interpretation to monitor and track satellite positions, trajectories, and potential collisions. It involves analyzing anomalies in satellite behavior, preparing briefings for clients and management, and collaborating with operations managers and national‑level partners to advance strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct orbital analysis and monitor satellite positions, trajectories, and potential collisions.
Interpret and analyze data to identify anomalies in space object behavior.
Prepare and present findings in meetings and briefings to clients and management.
Collaborate with systems engineers, analysts, and operations managers on analytic methods and technology development.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency and accuracy of orbital analyses.
Required Qualifications
Experience with scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python.
Knowledge of space surveillance and tracking systems, including radar and optical sensors.
Ability to compile and analyze statistics based on the current space‑object population.
TS/SCI security clearance.
Associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience in space, engineering, or orbital analytics, OR Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years, OR Master’s degree with 4+ years.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in orbital mechanics and data analysis for space assets.
Ability to identify and implement process improvements for more efficient, accurate analysis.
Proficiency using specialized software for orbital calculations and predictions.
TS/SCI clearance with polygraph (preferred).
Security Clearance Applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility for access to classified information. TS/SCI clearance is required.
Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this position is $77,600 – $176,000 annualized. Benefits include health, disability, life, retirement, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, and work‑life programs.
Work Model
If the position is remote or hybrid, you will work from a Booz Allen or client site facility as needed.
If the position is onsite, you will work in person with colleagues and clients.
