Bringing Home the Dough Position is accountable for setting logistics strategy, policies, and guidelines, and managing all distribution, storage, and transportation logistics for Flowers’ products internally and to distributors or end customers. The role oversees Flowers’ dedicated fleet, directs third‑party logistics and relationships, implements third‑party software and hardware, and provides strategic insights into demand planning and production planning.
Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities Accountable for Logistics Activities
Guide nationwide delivery of company products to distributors and end customers.
Oversee shipping operations, warehouse and distribution center management, and develop automation strategies to optimize warehousing efficiency.
Set and manage the company’s warehousing procedures and inventory management policies.
Set dedicated fleet transport standards and create an efficient national fulfillment system.
Set and manage 3rd‑Party fleet logistics standards (including contracts) and manage the company’s use of third‑party carriers.
Liaise with key distributors and customers (e.g., Walmart) to improve service levels, reduce lead times and costs.
Lead cross‑functional project teams to transform distribution sites or implement new systems.
Create the most efficient and cost‑effective national fulfillment system.
Develop, plan, and implement warehouse and distribution projects that optimize service while maximizing cost savings and efficiency.
Develop all inventory management strategies to include assortment, replenishment and allocation.
Support M&A integration activities from a logistics standpoint.
Oversee the corporation’s outsourced services program.
Practice and comply with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes‑Oxley, etc.).
Perform other duties deemed integral to the job, including but not limited to adherence to attendance policies and company operating rules.
Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications
Ten or more years of logistics leadership experience in a CPG manufacturing environment.
Bachelor’s degree in operations, logistics, or another relevant supply‑chain management field required; Master’s degree preferred.
