Overview
Performs dietitian services in accordance with professional standards including, but not limited to, assessing nutritional status of hospitalized patients; developing care plans for optimal nutritional status; and providing nutritional education for patients, families and Hospital employees. Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations affecting the Dietary department and assures compliance. Promotes a positive, professional image of the department both internally and externally. PRN – As Needed Minimum Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field. Licensure/certification:
Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and current license with the State of Iowa Code for Dietetic Practice required. Certified Diabetes Educator:
credential or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire. Previous Work Experience:
Previous experience working in a hospital environment preferred.
