POSITION SUMMARY

The Dining Services Manager oversees the dining services department of an assisted living, independent living, and/or memory care community, ensuring residents are provided with nourishing and well-balanced diets that meet their nutritional needs and dietary preferences. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversees daily operations of the dining services department, including budget, menu planning, food preparation, labor management, food safety, sanitation, and team leadership. Modifies menus to comply with regulations, considering resident allergies, intolerances, dietary needs, and preferences. Ensures food meets nutritional guidelines as per state and local regulations. Provides leadership to dining services staff, including recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, performance reviews, and daily oversight. Manages scheduling, including creating monthly schedules, daily assignments, and coverage for time off. May be on-call after hours and weekends. Handles food and supply ordering, inventory management, and ensures sufficient stock, including emergency reserves. Inspects food service areas and kitchens for cleanliness and safety, ensuring compliance with health regulations. Addresses unsafe conditions promptly. Ensures protocols for fire safety, infection control, and hazardous chemicals are followed and addresses concerns swiftly. Trains staff on policies, health standards, and regulatory requirements. Facilitates team meetings and communicates expectations. Monitors food quality, presentation, and service, gathering feedback from residents, visitors, and staff. Acts as lead cook during meals, preparing and serving food according to standards. Manages department budget, including expenses, inventory, and labor costs. Implements dietary changes as directed by PCP Diet Orders, ensuring documentation accuracy and timeliness. Participates in leadership meetings and initiatives, keeping management informed. Assists in planning and preparing for special meals and events. Performs other duties as assigned. COMPANY-WIDE RESPONSIBILITIES

ServSafe certification required, meeting local and state regulations. 3+ years in dietary services, healthcare experience preferred, with supervisory experience. Experience with budgets, scheduling, inventory, and ordering is helpful. Certified Dietary Manager or Food Service Manager certification is beneficial. EDUCATION

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, obtained through education, training, and experience. EOE Statement
