Title: Vascular Tech - Vascular Surgery - Kingston Medical Mall - Kingston, NY
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Essential Job Responsibilities
Review patient’s medical history and physician’s instructions. Ensure an order for the test is available and that a current script exists if the patient is referred from an outside physician.
Prepare equipment for the procedure, select the patient from the modality work list, set appropriate equipment settings, confirm the correct patient by asking for name and date of birth, explain the procedure, and direct the patient into the optimal position.
Perform vascular Doppler ultrasound examinations on:
Carotid arteries, temporal arteries, jugular vein evaluation
Upper extremity arterial, graft and stent surveillance, venous evaluation, and vein mapping
Dialysis access (AVF, AVG, Ellipsys) evaluation
Abdominal aorta, IVC, renal arterial and mesenteric duplex, graft and stent surveillance
Lower extremity arterial, graft and stent surveillance, venous evaluation, venous reflux, vein mapping
Upper and lower extremity PVR evaluation
Ensure all evaluations conform to IAC accredited lab examination protocols.
Prepare preliminary reports in Fuji for the physician and review demographic and report accuracy before finalizing.
Comply with safety, infection control, and quality improvement policies and procedures.
Follow directions from the Lead Ultrasound Tech and management.
Education
High school diploma.
Certificate in diagnostic medical sonography from an accredited institution or armed forces.
Experience and Certifications
Registered in vascular ultrasound technology; RVT or RVS.
Minimum of two years experience.
Proficient in: Carotid Duplex, Renal Artery Duplex, Peripheral Arterial Duplex (bypass, stents), Peripheral Venous Duplex (DVT, vein mapping, insufficiency) and ultrasound guidance for venous ablation procedures.
Work Type and Compensation Full-Time
Standard Hours: 40.00
Salary Range: $40.43 - $75.10 Hourly
