Postdoctoral Research Associate I, Physics
The University of Arizona Physics department is excited to invite applications for Postdoctoral Research Associates interested in research related to Theoretical High‑Energy Physics. We are hiring for two positions: one with a focus on Scattering Amplitudes to join the group of Callum Jones, and one with a focus on particle physics Beyond the Standard Model to join the group of Shufang Su.
Start dates August 24, 2026 or a mutually agreed upon date.

Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and lead an independent research agenda centered on theoretical high‑energy physics; disseminate work through publications and presentations; contribute to public‑engagement opportunities.
Develop and implement research initiatives, collaborations, publications, and/or events (e.g. talks, workshops, visitor programs, etc.) as needed and relevant to research agendas.
Collaborate with faculty and scholars in support of an inclusive academic environment (including organizing collaborative meetings, supervising/mentoring graduate and undergraduate students).
Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in physics or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with a PhD in Theoretical High‑Energy Physics are preferred.
Research experience relevant to one or more of the following scientific areas: Particle Physics, Quantum Field Theory, Scattering Amplitudes, Effective Field Theory, Quantum Gravity, String Theory, Gravitational Wave Physics, Theoretical Cosmology.
