POSITION SUMMARY The Temporary Engagement Coordinator supports the School of Nursing's recruitment and outreach efforts through mission-driven storytelling, digital marketing, and event coordination. This role builds authentic connections with prospective students and communities by highlighting the spiritual and vocational calling of nursing. Through collaboration with faculty and staff, creative content, and regional engagement, the coordinator helps extend the visibility of the school. This onsite position will end May 29, 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop an engagement and marketing plan in collaboration with supervisor. Identify needs, define action steps, and establish measurable outcomes required prior to project launch.

Plan and execute digital and in-person marketing strategies—including social media, email, SEO, storytelling content, and mission-aligned outreach—to promote programs and engage prospective students in alignment with Northwestern’s mission.

Ensure all communication exemplifies the spiritual and vocational calling of nursing with warmth and authenticity in ways that resonate with identified target audiences. Audit and guide department-level accounts to ensure brand alignment, compliance with university standards, and strategic consistency.

Coordinate and participate in recruitment events (4–5 external site visits and 2 on-campus events per semester), collaborating with supervisor, faculty, staff, and campus partners to represent the School of Nursing effectively.

Create and share compelling student and alumni stories across various platforms, developing 5–10 features during the engagement period to highlight the school's impact.

Track, analyze, and report engagement metrics through monthly updates to key stakeholders, using data to refine outreach strategies and ensure consistent messaging.

Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS Required:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, nursing, education, or a related field.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to authentically convey messaging.

Experience managing social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) for professional or organizational purposes.

Event coordination or outreach experience, particularly with high school or college-age audiences.

Basic content creation skills, including experience writing emails, creating digital content, and/or using platforms like Canva or Adobe Express.

Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, reflect His character in all interactions, and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, Doctrinal Statement and Declaration of Christian Community

Nice To Have:

Familiarity with higher education or nursing education and recruitment environments.

Experience with marketing tools such as Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, or SEO platforms.

Basic video or photo editing skills for creating engaging digital content.

Graphic design experience for branded outreach (knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva Pro, etc.).

Organizational Skills: Strong time management and problem-solving abilities; able to prioritize and meet deadlines with attention to detail.

Technical Proficiency: Basic to Intermediate computer skills

Written & Verbal Communication: Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.

Flexibility: Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.

Travel: Willingness and ability to travel occasionally for work-related purposes.

Driver’s License: Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

Background Check: Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
