Salary: $59,000-$62,000

Position Details: Full-time, U.S. Citizenship required, some travel involved

Job Description: We are seeking a Research Chemist Technician to join our Advanced Chemistry & Chemical Processing Group. The successful candidate will work on innovative projects involving the development of energetic systems, scale-up processes, and testing of energetic materials. This role requires a strong chemistry background, especially in organic and inorganic synthesis, and the ability to work safely with hazardous materials.

Responsibilities:

Assist in synthesizing energetic materials and scaling up processes.

Characterize novel energetic materials using analytical methods (DSC, TGA, SDT, TAM, Particle Size Analyzer, GC-FID, ARSST, UV-VIS-NIR, FTIR, Raman spectroscopy).

Handle hazardous materials following strict safety protocols.

Design experiments and test series for safe and effective data collection.

Operate and maintain specialized instrumentation and testing equipment.

Prepare technical reports, deliver presentations, and track project deliverables.

Required Skills:

Problem-solving skills in a fast-paced team environment.

Hands-on experience with energetic materials.

Proficiency in standard laboratory practices.

Creative thinking and innovation.

Strong communication skills.

Physical ability to sit for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., and work with computers.

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of explosive effects and chemistry.

Experience with additive manufacturing, energetic or hazardous material synthesis, or laboratory scale-up.

Knowledge of chemistry or chemical engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:

AS, BS, or MS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.

Ability to obtain security clearance and CO State Blasters Permit.
