Nurse/Clinical Research Coord Position Summary

This position is for a Research Nurse Coordinator in our Clinical Research Office at UNMCCC. The research nurse will work directly with physicians to run oncology clinical trials, assisting with screening, consenting, and management of patients involved in clinical trials following regulatory guidelines.

The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center is the Official Cancer Center of New Mexico and the only National Cancer Institute‑designated Cancer Center in a 500‑mile radius. Its 136 board‑certified oncology specialty physicians, along with more than 600 other cancer healthcare professionals, provide treatment to 65% of New Mexico’s cancer patients across the state.

Conditions of Employment

CPR Certified.

Must submit to post‑offer, pre‑employment physical examination and medical history check.

May be required to submit immunization records for review for required vaccines and TB testing.

Must maintain certification and/or licensure status.

May be required to complete department‑specific professional development activities.

Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University’s influenza vaccination requirement.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in Nursing; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Certification/Licensure: State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the multistate privilege to practice compact with New Mexico.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous clinical research and oncology experience.

Additional Requirements Finalists should be prepared to provide official educational transcripts if selected for hire.

Pay : $43.46 – $55.48
