Overview
BH Electronics, a division of Patrick Industries, is hiring a CAD Designer for their new location in Summerville, SC. As a CAD Designer at BH Electronics, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing electrical systems and components for our marine products. This role requires a strong understanding of CAD and Electrical engineering principles, design tools, and industry best practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet safety and quality standards, particularly those set by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC). Key Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems and components for wire harnesses and dash panel assemblies. Conduct electrical system analysis and simulations to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production staff, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs into final products. Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including schematics, layout drawings, and specifications. Participate in product testing, troubleshooting, and validation processes to ensure functionality and adherence to safety regulations. Stay updated on the latest developments in marine electrical engineering and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Support the certification process for ABYC standards, ensuring all products meet or exceed required specifications. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred but relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree Previous experience in CAD Design, experience in the marine or automotive industry strongly preferred Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, etc.). Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and wiring practices. Self-motivated with a proven track record showing the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines and work independently with limited oversight Strong attention to detail Strong personal accountability and follow-through skills Strong analytical/critical thinking A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities Align with Patrick Industries “BETTER Together” mentality by pursuing Balance, Excellence, Trust, Teamwork, Empowerment, and Respect within the organization
