Responsibilities

Direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. Supervise workers engaged in dismantling, assembling and installing industrial machinery. Requisition and maintain supplies of spare parts, tools and equipment. Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of departments. Interpret company policies for workers and enforces safety regulations. Explain specifications, blueprints and job orders to workers plus assign duties. Maintain time production records. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew, including plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintain good working knowledge of SHE policies, rules and procedures applicable to area of responsibility and ensure all applicable requirements are adhered to. Ensure employees are provided required training for area and jobs and tasks prior to assigning work. Ensure area of responsibility is maintained in orderly and safe manner. Promptly report unsafe working conditions to management and communicate potential hazards to affected employees. Promptly report all incidents to management and conduct incident investigation as soon as practicable; no later than 24 hours from time of incident. Perform all related responsibilities as required. Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses

Associate’s degree or equivalent with 2 to 5 years related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups of supervisors or employees, and apply common sense and problem solving. Job requirements include standing, walking, sitting, use of hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools or controls. Must be able to reach with hands and arms; climb balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Also have the ability to speak and hear. Required to regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are required. These include good close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision. Good depth perception and the ability to focus are necessary. Equipment Used

Typical office equipment: PC, telephone, fax machine Working Conditions

Duties are performed in outside weather conditions, working frequently near moving mechanical parts. Occasional work done in high, precarious places and could be exposed to fumes and cotton dust. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee Supervision
