The City of Dunedin, Florida is seeking candidates for the position of
Building Inspector/Senior Building Inspector
who possess
standard building and residential inspector licenses
from the State of Florida, Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (BCAIB)
OR
who meet the eligibility requirements in section
468.609(2), F.S.
to obtain provisional licenses as a building and residential inspector from the BCAIB. Candidates for provisional licenses as a building and residential inspector must demonstrate that he or she has the necessary experience, postsecondary education or combination thereof in each category of certification sought. Candidates who possess standard building and residential inspector licenses plus any additional standard licenses from the BCAIB in other inspector categories such as electrical, mechanical or plumbing are highly desirable. Candidates who possess ICC certifications as residential building inspector, commercial building inspector and residential combination inspector are also highly desirable. The City of Dunedin also has a Building Code Enforcement Certification Pay Policy that grants a 5% salary adjustment per certification to employees that attain additional BCAIB licenses in inspector and plans examiner categories after being hired.
