EMR is currently hiring for a skilled Diesel M echanic to join our team in New Orleans, LA. In this role, you’ll be responsible for keeping our equipment running safely and efficiently through timely preventative maintenance and quality repairs. You’ll inspect, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of mechanical systems, including diesel engines and hydraulic equipment, while ensuring all work meets company and safety standards.

What You’ll Do
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all company equipment.
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy machinery and metal processing equipment.
Dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment as needed.
Install new machinery, parts, and components.
Perform welding and fabrication work when required.
Fuel, lubricate, and maintain operational readiness of all assigned equipment.
Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently.
Keep supervisors informed about equipment conditions, repairs, and parts needs.
Maintain accountability for company tools and equipment.
Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and confined space procedures.
Participate in general facility cleanup and other assigned duties.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience, including work with heavy machinery, trucks, and metal processing equipment.
Technical Knowledge: Strong background in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
Ability to lead or support a maintenance team.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Comfortable working overhead, climbing ladders, kneeling, and standing for long periods.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Reliable, safety‑conscious, and organized.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
License: Must hold a valid driver’s license.
Work is primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, or snow.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
Work hours may vary, and occasional evening or weekend shifts may be necessary.
Some lifting and carrying of light to moderate weights required.
