Position Description
Precision, contract machining business is looking for a Machinist for our Turning (Lathe) Department. This is a 2nd Shift Position.
This position is responsible for setting up and running CNC Machines to produce precision components while maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced environment. Monitors parts to ensure they are meeting customer specifications. Experience with Mazak machines is a plus.
Duties include:
Operates equipment to standard work practices within all quality and performance standards. (Mazak Lathe)
Interprets blueprints, sketches and engineering specifications
Determine process, tools, programming (in Mazatrol) and setup - Neatly and accurately completes all required paperwork - Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to maintenance plans and established procedures - Ensure all safe work practices are followed
Qualifications include:
High School diploma or equivalent
5+ years experience preferred. Prefer experience in a Job Shop.
Familiarity with a variety of metals and plastics, and working on parts with very close tolerances.
Ability to inspect own work, troubleshoot and recommend optimal cutting tools a must.
Must be self-directed and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Standard 2nd Shift Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 4:15pm - 2:45am OT Friday 2:15pm-10:45pm (When needed)
