Responsibilities & Expectations: We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician with a strong mechanical background to perform service, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on electro‑mechanical equipment. This role emphasizes mechanical work while also requiring foundational electrical skills. IPS Field Service Technicians demonstrate strong repair skills and a commitment to providing an Unmatched Customer Experience.
Perform mechanical service and repair on AC/DC motors, gearboxes, and related equipment
Install, remove, and align AC and DC electric motors, set air gaps, torque critical components, replace bearings, and maintain seals
Conduct preventive maintenance and mechanical inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance
Perform minor electrical testing using portable devices (Megger®, PdMA MCE, Multimeter, DLRO) as required
Clean mechanical and electro‑mechanical equipment utilizing bead blasting, ice blasting, and solvent cleaning
Read precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators) to ensure mechanical tolerances
Collaborate effectively with team members to accomplish mutual goals
Adhere to all safety standards and procedures
Maintain a professional environment and provide excellent customer‑facing communication
Complete assigned work in compliance with company policies and procedures
Qualifications and Competencies:
Must have at least 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical/electrical equipment repair and maintenance
2+ years of AC/DC motor experience (mechanical focus)
PdMA testing and Level I Vibration Analysis experience preferred
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and mechanical manuals
Strong attention to detail with precise execution of instructions
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment following standardized work procedures
Strong customer focus and professional communication skills
Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with the ability to travel locally
Available to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, and on‑call as required
Basic computer skills
Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including fractions and percentages
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods
Acute hearing and strong field of vision
Ability to work in physically demanding and inclement weather conditions
