What You’ll Do As a Water Resources Engineer Co-op, you’ll gain

hands-on experience

in hydrologic and hydraulic engineering, stormwater management, and environmental sustainability. Guided by Professional Engineers (PEs), you’ll: Contribute to

drainage designs

for highway and bridge projects. Assist in developing roadway drainage plans, stormwater systems, scour analyses, and erosion control strategies. Perform

hydrologic and hydraulic modeling , calculations, and FEMA/flood control analyses. Support

storm sewer and culvert design , pond design, and energy dissipation measures. Participate in

field investigations

and site assessments (some travel required across the Southeast). Prepare specifications, permit submittals, and preliminary cost estimates. Collaborate in client meetings, plan reviews, and project discussions. Use industry-standard software including

OpenRoads, MicroStation, HydroCAD, Geopak Drainage, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS . What We’re Looking For

Requirements Must be pursuing a

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

at Clemson University Junior or Senior standing Strong skills in

AutoCAD ; familiarity with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, GEOPAK Drainage, HY-8, or FHWA Hydraulics Toolbox is a plus Eligible: U.S. Citizens and Green Card holders Desired Skills We value students who bring curiosity, adaptability, and teamwork. Skills that will help you excel include:

Technical : Hydrology, hydraulics, GIS, and water quality analysis Analytical : Data analysis, modeling, and problem-solving Soft Skills : Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking Environmental Awareness : Knowledge of sustainable water management and regulatory processes Practical : Ability to conduct site visits and field investigations Office-Based Role

with occasional fieldwork (site visits may require lifting, walking, driving, and light physical activity) Standard business hours:

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

(40 hours per week) Travel to regional job sites in the
