Responsibilities and Duties

Coordinate services to children at our Washbourne House Domestic Violence shelter in Kingston Serve as a liaison between families at the shelter and community agencies Provide information and referrals on schools, services for children in Ulster County, and any additional services needed Maintain electronic and handwritten case records, group notes Maintain statistical records for the Children’s Program Attend professional meetings as required, scheduled supervision meeting, and planning days Keep client files updated and check that they include all needed documentation Responsible to provide data for monthly, quarterly and annual reports for Youth Bureau and United Way Provided Case Management Services to mothers and children residing at the shelter and assist in supervising Children’s Coordinator Provides direct care for children in the shelter Role model parenting techniques and skills for consumers Oversee school registration and notification Oversee all children’s recreational activities Facilitate Parenting Group/Counseling Conduct assessment of children’s needs Follow up on children’s medical, mental health and other necessary appointments Oversee the organization and distribution of children’s clothing donations Along with other Children’s Staff, oversee organization and clean up of playroom Facilitate pre-school and school age children’s groups Responsible for monthly reporting to Youth Bureau and quarterly reporting to YB Provide transportation when needed using shelter van or your own car when van is not available Conduct screenings and intakes for shelter placement, transport families to shelter, welcome and assist with shelter orientation and adjustment Mandated reporting of suspected cases of child abuse Make copies of screening, intake, and other regularly utilized forms Qualifications

M.A. Degree and 2 years\' work experience administering a children services program, or BA and 3 years\' experience administering a children services program. Experience should be with community, Social Services, Mental Health, Head Start school district, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention skills necessary. Experience with crisis intervention and hands on work with children with special needs. Valid NYS Driver\'s license and registered motor vehicle necessary. Hours and Pay Rate

This is a full-time, 40-hours per week position based at our domestic violence shelter (address not provided for security purposes).The rate of pay for this position is: $18.67/hour and includes agency-funded health, dental and vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays and other benefits.
