FARMINGTON PUBLIC SCHOOLS is looking for substitute nurses to work per diem in our schools 2025-2026. Substitute School Nurses are paid hourly andcan choose the days they work! Substitute nurses are used to fill school nurse absences and also assist with annual screenings. QUALIFICATIONS: • BS in Nursing or related field preferred • Knowledge of pediatrics and public health • Connecticut Nursing License (please upload a copy of your license with your application) Daily Substitute Nurses will be contacted to fill in for School Nurses who are absent. The hourly rate is $30.00 per hour.
In order to be considered as a sub nurse candidate, the applicantwill need to have practical experience in the following areas: Diabetics with insulin pumps (Knowledge of continuous glucose monitors is also helpful as well as Glucagon administration) G-tube feeds Epilepsy (Diastat administration) Asthma (inhaler and nebulizer administration) Anaphylaxis (Epi-pen administration) Familiarity with tracheotomy care/suctioning/replacement and ventilators
