Maternal-Child Nursing Course Overview: This course emphasizes family-centered maternal and newborn care, including health promotion, wellness, and the childbearing cycle—covering normal and high-risk scenarios, complications, and women's health issues. Responsibilities Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service to the College, community, health system, and profession. Take responsibility for all aspects of your teaching assignments. Design clinical experiences, supervise, and evaluate nursing students providing care to individuals or groups. Provide documented performance feedback to students. Offer remediation support as needed. Stay informed about agency/clinical policies and procedures. Create and assign clinical tasks aligned with student knowledge and learning needs. Grade assignments promptly. Potentially teach didactic content under supervision. Keep the course coordinator informed of student and agency issues. Report to the dean or assistant dean; course coordinator provides oversight.
Qualifications A master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution. An unencumbered nursing license in MI. At least two years of recent professional nursing instruction experience. COVID-19 vaccination proof may be required at clinical sites. Teaching or precepting experience is preferred. Passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning. Exceptional subject matter expertise and communication skills. Commitment to serving students and colleagues with respect and care. A sense of responsibility and purpose to enrich the community.
Additional Information Compensation:
The expected pay ranges from $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on education and experience. Actual pay may vary based on factors like course type, location, licensure, market conditions, and departmental budgets. Our Talent Acquisition Team can address salary questions.
