Job Summary: SUNY Upstate
is in search of an
Advanced Practice Clinical Education Coordinator
who will serve as both a Clinical and Administrative Leader within Advanced Practice. This role maintains a
0.5 FTE clinical practice
and dedicates the remaining
0.5 FTE to administrative responsibilities , including program coordination, educational leadership, and staff development.
As the Advanced Practice Educator and Coordinator, you will guide APP professional development, oversee preceptor training, and ensure that educational strategies align with SUNY Upstate institutional goals. This individual will foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement by mentoring peers, influencing clinical standards, and modeling professional leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant or will be eligible by time of appointment.
NYS Licensed/Registered NP or PA.
Current National Certification consistent to the clinical practice.
3+ years of experience as an NP or PA required. Excellent communication, organization and computer skills with proficiency and expert knowledge of Microsoft, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Have a NPI number and be Medicare enrolled with a Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) (or eligible for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire.
CPR-BLS Certification required at the time of appointment.Must successfully pass pre-employment and credentialing clearances.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with developing educational programs in the clinic setting,
Formal or informal teacher experience.
Doctorate preferred.
Work Days: Varies based on assigned Clinical Team
