Piedmont- ATHENS, GA Med Surg 6: Nurse Residency-Education Unit Full time Nights Weekend Option 7pm-7am Sign on Bonus Available MS specialty & Weekend Option diffs Responsibilities
The NRU provides high-quality nursing care to acute care patients utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The Nurse Residency Unit onboarding includes coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff to provide quality nursing care. The NRU nurse maintains standards of practice and provides support during orientation and transition to practice guiding new graduates with experienced preceptors, leadership, and Nurse Residency Coordinator. Responsible for ensuring patient safety and contributing to a learning environment for new graduates on the NRU as they transition to their home units. *Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs. Extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios* Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a nursing program MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
New Graduates of a nursing program eligible MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable. Bachelor's degree preferred. Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
