Natura Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Chemist / Chemical Engineer to support the development of molten salt reactor (MSR) technology through laboratory-based experimentation. The Chemist / Chemical Engineer will assist in the preparation, execution, and documentation of experiments focused on salt chemistry, fuel processing, and reactor system development. This role is well-suited for early-career engineers or scientists looking to gain experience in advanced nuclear technology through meaningful laboratory contributions. Key Responsibilities Assist in the setup, operation, and maintenance of experimental systems supporting MSR-1 and MSR-100 development. Prepare and handle materials for tests, including purified salts and specialized components, in accordance with safety protocols. Operate laboratory instrumentation and hardware for measuring thermal, physical, and electrochemical properties of molten salt systems. Support experimental campaigns involving purification systems, isotope extraction, and corrosion testing. Collect and document data during experimental runs; assist in post-test analysis under the direction of senior technical staff. Contribute to quality assurance and safety compliance, including routine checks and procedure adherence. Collaborate with university and national laboratory partners on-site and remotely to support ongoing experiments and equipment integration. Maintain lab records, test logs, and contribute to internal reporting and technical documentation. Required Qualifications B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline. Hands-on laboratory or test bench experience in a research, academic, or industrial setting. Familiarity with scientific instrumentation and safe laboratory practices. Strong attention to detail, ability to follow technical procedures, and willingness to learn. Good written and verbal communication skills for documenting and reporting work. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with high-temperature systems, gloveboxes, inert atmospheres, or hazardous materials. Background in data collection software, sensor calibration, or control systems. Exposure to molten salt chemistry, thermal property measurement, or corrosion studies. Familiarity with radiation safety practices or previous work under a radiation license. Working Conditions Work is primarily performed in a laboratory environment with some time in office settings. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds, wear PPE, and perform tasks involving sitting, standing, or crouching for extended periods.
