Resource Energy
Resource Energy is seeking a motivated Sustainability Data Analyst. This role will be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of sustainability data and metrics for clients’ commercial real estate investment portfolio, with a focus on energy and water consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Reporting to the Manager of Sustainability, this role will cooperate with other Resource Energy teams, clients, and third parties to ensure data is assurance-ready for corporate reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Support the collection, validation, and analysis of monthly and annual environmental data across client portfolios
Utilize internal systems and tools to review data and prepare deliverables for clients’ ESG and sustainability reporting
Develop GHG Emissions Inventories according to the GHG Protocol and client Inventory Management Plans
Calculate data coverage for real estate assets using a variety of internal and external sources
Monitor ongoing energy and water consumption and provide clients with periodic updates on asset performance
Identify changes in asset performance and research drivers to rule out data quality issues.
Support RES teams in the identification of appropriate energy efficiency and sustainability measures.
Provide timely, accurate and detailed responses to data-related inquiries from clients and third-party assurance providers.
Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends relevant to sustainability and ESG
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a remote-first environment
Advanced MS Excel knowledge, including the ability to perform a range of functions and formulas and experience creating Macros and streamlining processes
Skilled in identifying and implementing creative solutions to improve data processes and accuracy
Demonstrated precision and thoroughness in reviewing and analyzing data, documents, and deliverables.
Hands-on experience calculating Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions according to GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new systems, tools, and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
General understanding of commercial property operations, including building energy systems and utilities.
Experience in the development and submission of annual GRESB and CDP disclosures including first-hand experience using all reporting platform prescribed tools, templates, and portal supporting these ESG disclosure submissions.
Familiarity with all other major ESG disclosure platforms reporting frameworks such as including but not limited to GRI, ISSB, TCFD, and SASB as well as the proposed SEC climate-related disclosure proposal
Working knowledge of ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manger
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to synthesize data analysis into reports and presentations
Proficiency in all core MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities at the same time.
